Outdoor Mission

Hi everyone, my name is Petra, I am from Hungary and I spent 10 months in Blåkilde Efterskole. As part of my Solidarity Project, I organized an outdoor community-building event called “Outdoor Mission” to support students after a stressful exam period. The goal was to create a relaxed and inclusive space where students could reconnect, socialize, and enjoy time together outside the classroom. 

We held the event in the garden next to the school where we set up a bonfire and prepared a traditional Hungarian cake called kurtoskalacs (chimney cake). Sharing this part of my culture allowed students to try something new and helped spark conversation and curiosity about different traditions.

The project promoted well-being, cultural exchange, and solidarity by creating a safe and positive environment. I was responsible for planning, organizing the cake, and inviting students.Through this experience, I developed event planning, communication skills. It also helped me build stronger connections with students and grow in confidence when taking initiative in a community setting
