What is a Solidarity Project?

As a European Solidarity Corps volunteer in Denmark (coordinated by AFS Interkultur) a part of the experience is doing a Solidarity Project. The purpose of this website is to present the process and results of these projects.

A Solidarity Project is a project with focus on intercultural learning. The purpose is for the volunteers to immerse themselves in their experience abroad and engage with their local community in Denmark.
The projects are created and managed by the volunteers and can take many different shapes.
The projects are also promoting non-formal learning through process, reflection and evaluation and ultimately active global citizenship.

  • AFS Interkultur (Denmark) is the coordinating organisation for a number of Danish projects.

The European Solidarity Corps is an initiative that creates opportunities for young people to volunteer or work in projects in their own country or abroad that benefit communities and people around Europe.
